The parka jacket will always be a winter favorite. But because of its casual, outdoorsy vibe, it’s easy to fall into the habit of wearing a mix of parka, denim jeans, and shirt. With the help of some more stuff in your wardrobe, you can elevate your style, make full use of your parka jacket, and go out of the house looking like a million bucks.

Here’s how:

1. Wear your parka with a loose sweater and a pencil skirt.

A few girly pieces, such as a pencil skirt, can go a long way in upgrading the casual parka jacket into something dressier. Like style blogger Yina, you can keep yourself warmer with a chunky knitted sweater. Style this ensemble with a pair of tights, a pair of thick-soled lace-up shoes, and your favorite muffler.

2. Choose a pleated miniskirt to go with your jacket.

Pleated skirts are versatile and flattering, so they go with pretty much everything. That includes your parka jacket. Try Claudia’s look, and opt for a leather miniskirt for an edgy look. Wear it with a turtleneck cropped top, and then accessorize with oxford shoes.

3. Layer a parka jacket over a dress and a cardigan.

Embrace layering while the season still calls for it. Fashion blogger Kavita showed us how. She wore a cardigan over her dress and topped off the ensemble with her parka jacket. You can wear tights or a pair of knee-high socks to keep yourself warmer.

4. Your leather pants should also work with your parka jacket.

Switch to leather pants if you are getting tired of wearing your parka with your jeans. It’s as comfortable, but you’ll get a different look. Style blogger Madalina also showed us how cute the look is if you accessorize with lace-up booties and a printed tee.

5. Add striking accessories, namely, a pair of stunning boots and a large tote.

Why fix it if it ain’t broke? The parka and jeans combo works all the time, but try to bring it to another level by doing what blogger Adriana did, that is, by going for statement accessories. Those boots and bag are to die for!
