Just when we thought Rita Ora had sated her PVC fix, we were proven wrong. The usually-stylish singer has been spotted wearing a number of plasticky outerwear pieces out and about, and we can’t quite figure out why.
First, Rita Ora showed up at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival a few weeks ago in a cropped plastic jacket worn overtop of a pink bra, hiked-up white v-neck t-shirt and a patterned knee-length skirt.

Then, she was spotted with her bud, Cara Delevingne, wearing a similarly-colored plastic trench. This time, she wore the jacket over a textured white dress and a pair of detailed thigh-high white boots.

We can’t quite understand the appeal of plastic jackets on a clear day. The PVC material is great for repelling rain water in a downpour, but we imagine it would be hot, sticky and uncomfortable when worn as actual outerwear.
However, these translucent jackets do give the wearer a chance to show off his or her outfit underneath. So, maybe Rita is actually on to something?
