The French high-end fashion design house, Lanvin, recently released its Winter 2012 lookbook to the joy of many. One word that comes to mind after viewing the new collection is “contrast.” I mean that in a good way, a great way actually!
Lanvin found an appealing way to incorporate nicely fitted casual wear, such as trousers, denim jeans, button-downs, and cardigans. However, as you browse through the images, you’ll notice a smooth transition into looser-fitting pieces, including wide-leg trousers and oversized sweaters. I am also highly impressed with the versatile use of differing textures, which is showcased in both the casual and formal items. We’re treated to a smooth, clean construction of tuxedo-style suits and then shown clever use of rugged textures, such as faux-fur-lined overcoats and thick knitted sweaters.
My absolute favorite part of the lookbook is its playful integration of bold colors into its seemingly all-black/gray collection. As a point of reference, a casual outfit consisting of a dark-gray t-shirt, black fitted denim jeans, and black ankle-high dress boots, topped by a light-gray toque, serves as the perfect backdrop to a bright-green knitted cardigan. Brilliant!
For all the gents out there looking for some fashion guidance or even a new wardrobe, look no further. Check out this inspired collection today!
