Black lace is back in trend again! Blame it on the rise of Lady Gaga, but the sexy, sultry, and seductive fabric is up, out, and ready to go to town after being considered as an only-for-underwear material for so long.
We’re seeing black lace on everything from skirts to dresses to shoes, but for jackets — and for something completely different — we turn to Tibi.
Tibi’s lace back long blazer is both formal and flirtatious or, as what Joe Dirt would say, something that is all “business in front” and all “party in the back.”
Tibi Lace Back Long Blazer at Shopbop
This two-face blazer is made of luxurious, very-now velvet fabric in front, contrasted with smooth satin for the lapels. The full see-through black lace completely replaces the panel at the back.
The sleeves are oh-so-slightly puckered, and the jacket secures with double-breasted button closure in front. It’s a unique twist to the regular blazer, but I would’ve preferred a simple one- or two-button closure, so this jacket would look more streamlined when left unbuttoned.
To keep the sexiness at a “super” level rather than “over the top,” wear this blazer with a light-colored camisole. White would work fine but try something closer to your skin tone. It’d be tastefully seductive — be provocative without being promiscuous.
