Jessica Alba was in Washington D.C. yesterday to attend a press conference for the Safe Chemicals Act of 2011. As a soon-to-be mother of two, pregnant Jessica Alba spoke about wanting a safe, clean, and healthy environment for her children and introduced the Senate Bill S.487 as something that will change the way the American public is protected from harmful toxic chemicals and substances.

Jessica Alba adhered to the serious tone of the press conference’s topic and kept her outfit conservative, formal, and very business-like.

Jessica Alba wore a Kimberly Ovitz white camisole tucked into a Jane Oh Penelope black lace skirt and accessorized with Elie Saab platform sandals. She topped off her outfit with a sand-colored linen jacket from Ann Taylor.

Though I love the jacket, it looks a tad too big and too long on Jessica Alba. Maybe it’s meant to be that way, but the jacket paired with the skirt hiked up all the way up under the bust made the proportions look all off. You can get the Ann Taylor linen jacket for $228 at Ann Taylor.

For that long, oversized look, this linen boyfriend jacket from DKNYC will do the trick.

For something a little more sophisticated (and less wrinkled), try the following shapely linen jacket from Elie Tahari:
