Is it any surprise that the guests who wore jackets to the 2013 Met Gala are among our best-dressed picks?
We may be biased, but check out our list first — the jackets really made the outfits embody the gala’s punk theme. If anything, they were what made the celebrities’ whole look, and, in some cases, the jacket literally was the whole look!
Studded, spiked, plaid, and leather — punked-up jackets sartorially killed it at the “Punk: Chaos to Couture” Costume Institute Gala last night.
Who was your best dressed? Scroll down for our picks, and see if you agree!
1. Madonna in Givenchy
Madonna is fearless and pantless in this studded plaid Givenchy jacket. We would hate this costumey outfit on anyone else, but we absolutely love it on Madonna.

2. Sienna Miller in Burberry
A spiky half-headband, semi-bedhead, and a softly draped gown — Sienna Miller is a little bit undone and a whole lotta punk in her fully studded Burberry leather jacket.

3. Lily Collins in Moschino
Lily Collins may be wearing an Oscars-worth gown, but she still had fun with the punk theme by throwing a studded jacket over it. Love the Black Swan-ish eye makeup!

4. Elizabeth Banks in Atelier Versace
Check out the texture on Elizabeth Banks’ gold chainmail jacket. Do you agree that this is one of the best uses of a jacket as a dress, like, ever?

5. Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello
This one’s not quite a jacket used as a dress, but rather a dress inspired by a leather jacket. Anja Rubik looks dangerous, especially with that risque grommet detail along with the skirt.

6. Cara Delevingne in Burberry
Model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne was not wearing a jacket, but the spiky top half of her dress certainly made her look like she was. Love the attitude she’s giving the camera, and check out that picture of her hamming it up with Sienna Miller.
